[ because even now, the resentment to live under someone's heel is too much. too familiar. just because things are good now doesn't mean they'll always be. ]
[The two enter Finnick's bedroom, the bed unmade as always, and it's a little cluttered. He doesn't apologize for the mess, and he sits on the edge of his bed, looking up at Dolph.]
[ dolph takes it in, curiously. these kinds of places are always fascinating to him. bedrooms, houses, homes . . . he has no experience in living in one. his own house has a few bits and ends but . . . they were things given to him by others. ]
[He points at a suncatcher sort of like this, made from seaglass and shells tied together and hanging from a piece of driftwood, in his window.]
I actually started making one of these in my last world, before I lost my arm. But when I lost it, I couldn't tie knots anymore... Which doesn't sound like a big deal, but it was for me. So it went unfinished... But when I finally got my prosthetic and learned to use it, I started making a new one-- actually I made two- I gave one to Sky for her birthday. So... Seeing it makes me happy, I guess.
Oh, they do, but I didn't lose my arm in my own world. I lost it when I died in my last world. I think it was a punishment sort of thing- like Inferna is here.

It's a good thing my roommates are fine with me being a slut.

I don't think anyone here really minds.

[ He smiles up, swaying slightly. ]

Well. It's the life we make for ourselves here.

[He's not totally sure what that means, but it's a nice sentiment, he supposes.]
Want to stay?
no subject
Maybe if Vaeros was gone.

I meant here, tonight.
no subject
Right. Of course. It's nice out here.

Come see my room.
[He takes Dolph by the hand and leads him through the castle.]
And you better not leave Somnius. Or I'll find you and kick your ass.
[As if he could beat Dolph in a fight. L O L.]

I wasn't planning on it.

It's nice.
[ he sits down next to finnick. ]
Are you planning on getting anything else for it?
no subject
[He slings his arm around Dolph's shoulders.]
I do like making things, though. I made a lot of the stuff in here with beach materials.

Like what?

It's incredible.
[ a quiet beat. ]
It's good that you've gotten used to your prosthetic.
no subject
Oh... Thank you.
[He looks down at his fake hand, flexing it a little.]
I'm really grateful to have it. I couldn't have gotten it without my three closest people in Seven helping me pay for it.

Do they not have them on your world?
